There was adequate time to explore some of the sights In Dubuque. My Friend and I went on the Riverboat Twilight and it was the most perfect/awesome adventure! From reserving our trip to our final walk to our car after the two day cruise, all was perfect! Staff are amazing, from the Captain to the servers, to the musical entertainers. Everything is very well organized, from our luggage/hotel in Dubuque/seating for meals, free shuttles in Dubuque, etc! The scenery and info along the way from the captain was wonderful!

Come explore the Mississippi with America’s #1 river cruise line. Today, even with just a couple of hours, you can get the riverboat experience. Step into 19th-century America in La Crosse, located on the banks of three captivating rivers. La Crosse is home to Riverside Park, where you’ll discover beautiful gardens, an outdoor performance center, and inspiring sculptures.

Marvel at the outdoor murals reflecting the area's rich heritage and enjoy shore excursions to Crisp Museum and the Old Vincent Church. Welcome to Memphis, a historic city which rises picturesquely up the hillside from the river, adorned with grand oak trees, lush parks, and historic sites that commemorate everything from the Civil War to the Civil Rights Movement. Immerse yourself in its rich musical legacy as you stroll along legendary Beale Street, where music flows from every doorway, and savor the rich flavors and aromas of the city’s famous BBQ.
Our onboard experts bring the stories of the River to life and provide context to each shore experience we provide along the way. This epic 23-day exploration of America begins in New Orleans and travels north, visiting new ports of call each day before concluding in Minneapolis. As an owner, of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Le Claire, IA and the President of Great Lakes Management Group which manages the hotel’s day to day operations, I wanted to say thank you.
Alton is an idyllic town, known for its scenic limestone bluffs along the river and its rich Civil War history. The National Great Rivers Museum, located at the Melvin Price Lock and Dam, tells the stories of the Mississippi River’s history, the people that rely on the River, and its many ecosystems. Hometown of jazz musician Miles Davis and Robert Wadlow, the tallest known person in history (8’11”), Alton is an inspiring and picturesque destination and the perfect place to begin your Upper Mississippi journey. Winona welcomes you with the perfect blend of modern development and old river town charm. From rolling fields of flowers to some of the most architecturally important buildings in Minnesota, enjoy a carefully crafted selection of excursions which lead you through the most intriguing sites Winona has to offer.
Currently, your tour is most likely to take place aboard the Island Queen, Memphis Riverboats’ flagship vessel. The 100-foot-long vessel features enclosed, covered and outdoor decks – three decks in total – with ample seating and, on themed cruises, room for dining and dancing, too. The popular Memphis Queen II and other vessels are currently undergoing renovation. Get to know your fellow guests and savor the view as you set out cruising Mark Twain’s river. As you cruise toward the historic city of Hannibal, enjoy the beauty of the heartland.
Explore the Houmas House and its history as you stroll along the gardens, ponds, and the majestic live oak alley that adorn the grounds. Discover the southern splendor of “The Sugar Palace,” with its 16 rooms filled with period antiques and Louisiana artwork. Travel to the magnificent Houmas House Plantation and enjoy its beautiful gardens and unique collection of Louisiana art. Be greeted with colorful Mardi Gras beads in Baton Rouge, before taking a one-of-a-kind guided tour through this fascinating city. Sip a cool Mint Julep on the west lawn of the Oak Alley Plantation in 19th-century fashion. The Lower Mississippi has the longest season, typically running from November through December and April to mid-June, with most sailings on the bottom one-third of the river (New Orleans round trip or New Orleans to Memphis).
